Merus Power to deliver second energy storage system to Poland
Merus Power has signed another battery energy storage deal in Poland, strengthening its strategy for international growth in the energy storage market. The new project will be implemented in cooperation with the Polish company EPQS and involves a 2 MW / 9 MWh energy storage facility, which will be delivered to a private sector investment customer.
The energy storage facility will be delivered and commissioned during 2026. A maintenance agreement will also be established with the customer, which will support the long lifecycle of the equipment and customer satisfaction. The total value of the deal is just under EUR 2 million, of which Merus Power’s share is significant.
The project will be implemented in cooperation with EPQS. The local partner guarantees knowledge of the Polish market and local implementation capabilities. Merus Power is responsible for the delivery, commissioning, and lifecycle services of the energy storage facility. The cooperation model enables the provision of cost-effective and scalable energy solutions in new markets.
“This second energy storage deal in Poland proves that our strategy is working and that demand for modern energy storage is growing. We are proud to bring reliable Finnish technology to growing markets, and this project is another step towards a safer and smarter energy future,” says Kari Tuomala, CEO of Merus Power.
“We are very pleased to continue our cooperation with Merus Power on a second energy storage project. Merus Power’s technology and expertise, combined with our local market knowledge, form a strong foundation for successful deliveries. Projects like this show that together we can accelerate the energy transition in Poland as well,” says Marek Sikora, CEO of EPQS.
The first energy storage project in Poland was announced in the summer of 2025, and the second deal, now signed, strengthens Merus Power’s foothold in the developing energy markets of Central Europe.
