Merus Power strengthens its position in Poland’s growing energy storage market

Merus Power is strengthening its strategic position in Europe’s growing energy storage market by delivering an energy storage solution to Poland. The 2 MW / 10 MWh energy storage system will be delivered to TYMBARK-MWS sp. z o.o., a subsidiary of the MASPEX Group, one of the largest food industry companies in Central and Eastern Europe. The agreement was signed between Tymbark and a consortium formed by EPQS and Merus Power.

Merus Power’s contract covers the delivery of an energy storage solution and lifecycle services. The energy storage technology to be delivered includes features that support the power system, such as black start, island operation, and grid-forming technology. The energy storage solution is scheduled to be commissioned in the summer of 2027.

Poland is an important market for us, where the growth of renewable energy is increasing the need for flexible, smart solutions that support the power grid. We are proud that Merus Power’s European technology, developed and manufactured in Finland, was selected for the project. Critical infrastructure requires reliable solutions that support security of supply,” says Kari Tuomala, CEO of Merus Power.

The energy storage solution is an important investment for us that supports the development of Tymbark’s energy solutions and our sustainability goals. Combined with the solar power plant, it helps us utilize renewable energy more efficiently, improve energy management, and strengthen the continuity of our operations. We appreciate the solution’s advanced technical features, which support the system’s operational reliability even for future needs,” says Bogdan Tyrybon, Member of the Management Board of the Maspex Group.

Our strategic partnership with Merus Power is important to us, as together we can meet the needs of Poland’s growing energy storage market and our customers with reliable European energy solutions. This project combines EPQS’s local project expertise with Merus Power’s advanced energy storage technology,” says Marek Sikora, CEO of EPQS.

Merus Power’s energy storage solutions improve grid stability and increase the flexibility of the energy system. The company’s solutions combine energy storage, power quality, smart control, and services into a comprehensive package that improves the performance and value of the customer’s power system throughout its entire lifecycle.
